Headaches, nausea and vertigo that would not go away
It all started in October 2002.
I was getting really bad headaches every single day. I went to the local health centre and at first the doctor said the headaches were from tension and gave me strong pain killers called Kapake, but they did not work.
I went back to the doctors and because my balance was now affected, it was suggested I may have labyrinthitus, an inner ear infection that does affect the balance and gives rise on occasion, to a feeling of vertigo.
After a few days, my walking was badly deteriorating and mistakenly could of gave the impression to others I was intoxicated. So I was sent home from work because of this vertigo like feeling and difficulty in focusing on the computer monitor so I could call the doctor out for a home visit. Again, labyrinthitus was suggested. Near Christmas, my mother took me to the local hospital because I now knew, the headaches were not right.
They dismissed the headaches as bad migraines and again I was sent home. I requested the local doctor out to my house, but again the suggested cause, labyrinthitus, was proffered to me, I thought wrongly this time. Most definately.
Two days later an ambulance was ordered to take me to hospital because I was getting progressively worse. At this point I could not walk at all and was being sick. My voice also became high pitched and squeaky in tone. This was a decidedly upsetting period of time.
